SUNDAY FOOTBALL AT MIRAMAR.
Sir,—So our worthy Mayor and Councillors have decided-to call on Ihc police and put n stop to Simdny football at Miramar. •So far so good! Wo all agree Now may I crave just a few lines in your much-rend paper to ask Mr. Brodie, when the. police have finished with tho boys, to toko them (tho police) over to the golf links, and see what is going on (here. If the poor boys must srop football, then tho rich girls and the rich boys must stop golf, because one. is just as offensive tn the feelings of Miramar residents as the other. The " Wellington City Council would not allow cricket or football-in the Basin or Park on Sundays. They regard the feelings of the people, and have, respect for tho day. Now, will Mr. Brodie please tell us what he is going to do because his Worship knows British fair play cannot stop "poor football" and allow "rich golf" to go on. Tho population of Miramar is rapidly on the increase, and it is now quite time our council stopped Wellington people from turning our borough into a Sunday sports ground, because they are not allowed to carry on their games in tho city.—l' am, °°" A RESIDENT OF MIKAMAR, May 0, 1011.
