Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their weekly sale iu Eketahuua on Friday. The report states:—lVo had a medium yarding of both sheen and cattle, prices not being as pood as last sale. Anything with good condition sold well, but poor sorts were hard to ouit. Wo quote:— Woolly lambs (fat). 95.; shorn (forward condition), ss. 3d., 65., 6s. Id.; poor sorts, 3s. 9d., 45., 4s. 3d.: cull ewes, ss. Id.; (rood ewes iu lamb, 75., 7s, 9d.; 2-tooth wethers, 95., 9,i. Bd., 10s. and 11s. CcL; milkins cows. £6. £6 53.; 20-months heifers, in calf, £3 10s., £3 15s.
Stessrs. Dalscty and Co., Ltd., report on their sale at Levin yesterday as follows:— We yarded some 4CCO sheep and ICO head of cattle. Bidding ct auction was somewhat lacking in spirit, and anything inferior was hard to quit. Wo yarded mme fine fat sheep and lambs on account of Mr. J. It. M'Donaid, which sold well, and. altogether, wo had a good sale, and report the following prices:—Fat wether 3, 16s. 6d.; fat ewes, 145.; fat lambs, 10s. 9d.; eves in lamb, Co. 6d.; empty ewes, ss. 9d.; culls, 35., 2s. 9d.; small two-tooth ewes and wethers, 7s. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their fortnightly Ealc yesterday at Dannevirke, when they offered a cood yarding of sheep and cattle to a- fair attendance of buyers. Bidding was not very spirited for sheep, but cattle met with (rood demand. Fat owes, 30 at 9s. 3d., and 12 at 10s. 7d.; 97 2-tooth wethors, 10s.; lambs, 63 mixed 6s. Id., 203 at Bs. 10d., 93 at Gs. 7d., 165 at Bs.; breeding ewes, 200 at Bs. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. (Feilding branch), report for thu week ending yesterday as foHows — At Apiti on Tuesday we had a good yarding of sheep, and a fair^entry of cattle. Ewea in lamb woro dull, other stock selling on a par with Feilding rates. Forward empty ewes, 9s. 2d.; two, four, and sis-tooth ewes in lamb, Bs. 6d., 11s. 7d., 12s. 6d.; f.m. owes, 45., 55., Es. Id., ss. 3d.; mixed lambs, 65.; do. (small), 4s. 6d.; small ewe lambs, ',?.. 5d., ss. Id.; wether lambs, 4s. 3d.; 18month steers, £3 45.; 2-year steers, £4 2s. 6d.; 3-year steers, .£5 ss. 6d.; good weaners, £3 7s. sd. At Feilding on Friday we had a heavy entry of sheep, and a good yarding of cattle, and we managed to dispose of almost the whole of our entry at slightly advanced rates. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—At Levin yesterday wo offered a yarding of 3CCO sheep, and 390 head of cattle. Bidding was not at all brisk, and the majority of the stuff was passed in under the hammer. With few exceptions, sheep changed bands after the sale, but the built of the cattle went out unsold. Quotations: —Fat and forward wethers (good), Ms, 4r1., 15s. 5d., and 15s. 9d.; store wethers, 12s. 3d., 12s. 6d. and 135.; small wethers. 9s. 6d.; fat ewes, 12s. 6d. to 12s. 10(1.; forward ewes, 10s. 6d. to 11s. 6d.; good store ewes, Bs. 3d. to 95.; store ewes, 6s. to 75.; cull ewes. *s. Id. to 4s. 6(1,; fat and forward lambs. 9s. to 10s.; store lambs, 4s. 6d.; woolly lamb;, Bs. 6d. to 9s. 9d.: several pens of good ewes in lamb were offered. The output of the Clyde shipyards during March practically constitutes a record for that mouth, the total tonnatre exceeding 53.C00 spread over 24 vessels. Only once before in the- month of March I'.a3 this tonnajfe been equalled. In 1906 it amounted to 58,460 tone.
