"South African News," ami the "Onsland" are not appearing. All the master printers in Cape Town have decided to support the newspapers. The latter already pay uuion wages for union hours. PAPERS APPEAR ON ALTERNATE DAYS.' (Rec. May 11, 0.5G a.m.) J Cape Town, May 10. The newspapers aro appearing on alternate days with meagre contents. Tho general printing trade is paralysed. LABOUR MINISTER PUTS HIS FOOT DOWN. Sydney, May 10. The men engaged on the Morce-Mun-gindi railway, which tho Government is building by day labour, struck for fifteen shillings a day for man. and horse. Mr. Griffith, Minister for Public Works, immediately purchased horses and sent other men to replace the strikers, stating: "I cannot rllow workmen to dictate to the Department."

THE HARVESTER STRIKE. Melbourne, May Ifl. The Harvester works men held a eecret ballot to-day, to decide whether they would return to work. It is probable a start will be made to-morrow.
