$ . PRESENT AND PROSPECTIVE. Some interesting particulars as to the water supply of tnc city are turuished in the minimi report of the Superintendent of the Fire ilrigade. Wainui-o-mata reservoir, 17! miles from city; capacity, 20,000,000 nations. There arc about 150 miles of mains through the city. The average daily pressure in the centre of the city, is l'2olL\, and the maximum pressure, 1501b. The new storage reservoir nenn'iiß coinpletion at Wainui-o-mata has a capacity of 100,000,000 gallons. Service reservoir.*, to whicn the water is raised by clectrically-drivcn multi stage centrifugal pumps, are situated at Kelburne, capacity f>21.000 gallons, andBrooklyn, capacity 422,000 callous.

The following service reservoirs are nearing completion:—Roseneath, capacity 213,000 gallons; Melro?o, capacity, ITS.CC'O gallons; 'W'ackstovn, capacity 106,000 galStorngo tanks, each with a capacity of 50,01)0 gallons fed by gravitation, arc located at Halaitai. Botanical Gardens, Kelburue, Coromanclel Street, and Bell Koad.
