The outlook ioi the school work is distinctly good. 1 lie Ladies Sewing Society held a successful file of work in November last, and realised over .£l2O. part of which was devoted to installing an electrical organ-blowing plant. Home and L.M.S. -Missions were well supported, Miss Godwin acting as collector for the former, and Mr. Miller for the latter. The choir again rendered valuable service, ill*. A. M. Lewis acting as choirmaster and Messrs. T. Forsyth and ,T. Thawley as honorary organists. The finances are in a healthy condition, the needs of the varioui;. funds beiia* met. The general fund shows a credit balance of .£5, and the total amount raised .for all purposes during the year was ,£530. ln_conclusion, the report expresses appreciation of t.lie mimstrafhn of the ltev. A. L. M'DOnald Aspland, both as president of the various organisations, and as preacher and pastor. Mr. Aspland is congratulated upon entering upon the seventh vear of his ministry at tho Courtenay Place Church. ST. ALBANS-EASTBOURNE. The annual report of St. Albans Church, liastuourne, states that the year just endbd has been a notable one tor the Church, two events standing out prominently. The first was the completion, •and opening of the church building, and the oiner, the visit of Missiouer n. v; I Stuart. The church building was opened lor worship 011 .May 14. The mission commenced 011 October 14, and concluded 011 Uetober 18, and mucn good resulted from tho local work of the luissioner. A Sunday School for children was lormed during tho year, arrangements being made with tlie State School authorities for the use of their building for the purpose. The school is in charge of Mr. liutton. Appreciation of the services of the vicar, the Rev. Mr. Jones, is expressed by the committee. Considering tho extent of the Hutt district, of which ho has charge, and the distance of liis headquarters from- Eastbourne, the committee feel that he has given more attention to Eastbourne than they perhaps have a right to expect, and the thanks of residents are due to him for the successful position to which he has brought the Church. It is hoped that the time is not far distant when he can bo relieved of tho care of I his part of his parish, by the appointment of a vicar tor Eastbourne as a distinct parish. Tills would prove of inestimable benefit to the people of Eastbourne, the possibilities being very great. The committee considers the time ripe for steps being taken in this direction, but, recognises that it is a matter that must bo approached with care, whilst, at the same, time, it is confident that the step is practicable and even necessary for the proper progress of the Church in Eastbourne.
Tho finances of the Church arc in a healthy state.
