Interested.—The shooting of the Chinese iu Uaiiiing Street took place on Sunday, September 24, 1505. Lionel Terry was remanded the following day and committed for trial on October 2. Ho was sentenced to death on November 11 of the same year, but the sentence was subsequently commuted to imprisonment for life, and Terry was transferred to Lyttclton \Gaol. Eventually ho was sent to the Sutinyside 3[enta"l Hospital, where he still remains.
