MOERAKI. FROM SYDNEY. Advice received by the local office of the Union. Company is to the effect that the Mocraki left Sydney for Wellington direct on Saturday, with !77 passengers for all ports. She is due hero to-morrow morning. : THE -MORAYSHIRE. . On Friday night, or early on Saturday morning, the F.-H.-S. steamer Morayshire is expected to 'cave' Auckland, in continuation of her voyage from Liverpool, for Wellington. She mrikos a. call at Nanicr coining down the coast, and is due in port on May 17. NAIRNSHIRE LEAVES LIVERPOOL. Cabled advice received by the local agents of the F.-H.-S. Lino is to tho effect that tho Nairnshire left Livornoci for Auckland direct on Saturday last. Upon completion of discharge at the northern port tho vessel comes on to Wellington, being due hore about July 7. Sho suhMouently proceeds to Lyttelton, Dunedin, and the bluff. NOTICES TO MARINERS. ROCKS AT AUCKLAND. The Auckland Harbour Board has advised the Marine Department that Lieutenant Jackson, R.N., who is now engaged in a survey of tho harbour, reports • the existence of a rock, 12 yards square,, with 23ft. of water on it at low water, spring tides. 255 ya.rds bearing S. 51dcg. W. (mat:neiic) from tho Kaipara Shoal buoy. The rock is not in tho main channel, but intercolonial and coastal vessels using the pascage inside the red luminous buoy rirould bo warned. Another rock is reported to have been located in 13 fathoms of wat-or, bearint: S. 16deg. W., 270 yards from Rough Rock buoy.
HINEMOA FOR THE CHATHAMS. . Expected .to leave Onehunga for Wellington to-night, tho Government steamer llinemoa will arrive hero on Thursday. On the following day the vessel is to be dispatched on a special trip to the Chatham Islands. Theso arrangements have been made so as to enable a number of residents at tho Islands, who have been some time in New Zealand, to return to their homes. Since the conclusion of the mail contract no na,<c-cnger steamers have boon trading to the islands, and, consequently, those people who arrived in tho Dominion prior to the cancelling of tho contract, have been unable to go; back. Tho Hinemoa also takes stores down. BRIEZ IZEL ARRIVES. Some hours sooner than she was expected, the Vacuum Oil Company's chartered steamer Bricz Izcl arrived in tho stream, at Wellington, from New York, via way ports, last evening. Her voyage out was uneventful. The Briez Izel is a French steamer officered and manned by Frenchmen, who number forty-three all told. The vessel first visited New Zealand some five years ago, when sho brought, a cargo of hardwood from West Australia. Her next visit occurred, about three yean ago, when sho camo with general merchandise from New York. On the present visit the vessel brought 150,000 cases of oil for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton. and Dunedin, about 45,000 being for Wellington. Leaving Auckland at 2.45 p.m. on Saturday, the tramp dropped anchor in the stream at 7.20 p.m. vesterday, thus taking fifty-three hours on the run down. She berths at the King's Wharf this morning.
