NORA KIVEN FHOM .OWENGA. With a cargo of about 16 tons of fish, tho steam trawler Nora, Nivon arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from the Chatham Islands Fishing Station at I Owenga,. Leaving Wellington on the evening of April 29 the little vessel encountered heavy southerly winds and heavy seas all- tho way down to the Islands, and, owing to a (".enso fog, the land wao very difficult to pick up. and consequently the vessel's.arrival was delayed 12 hours. She made port on Tuesday evening, May 2. After shipping tho fish, sho left on (.no return trip on Thursday last at 4 p.m., and experienced moderate southerly weather and moderate sea 3 until Capo Palliser was sighted, thenco fair weather into port. To-day the vessel departs on a trip to Mr. M'Lean's fishing depot at Kaingaroa, Chatham Islands, and should bo back about tho end of the week. INVERTAYFROM ST. JOHN. The steamer luvertay. of the Law and Leslie Steamship Company, London, and at present under charter, to tho Now Zealand. Shipping Company, arrived from St. John, New Brunswick, at 2.30 a.m. on Saturday. The vessel anchored, in the stream until daybreak, when E'lie came alongside No. 16 Jcrvois Quay to discharge. She left tho Canadian port on February 18, and arrived at Gape Town on March 19, whore some slight repairs to her machinery were effected, and Rhe resumed her voyage two days later. Fine weather generally was experienced to Melbourne, which port was reached on April 14. Upon completing discharge the-vessel proceeded on to Sydney. Tho latter port was cleared on April 22, the steamer arriving at Auckland on May 2. Leaving the northern port at 3.45 p.m. on Wednesday last, she arrived at Wellington as stated. Sho is to ■be employed in the Auckland coastal trade. Wednesday is the day fixed for the departure of the Union Company's steamer Kaituna from Bunbury for Dimedin. She. takes a cargo of hardwood. Mr. Appleyard, chief officer of the Haupiri, left for Auckland on Saturday on leave. Mr. Fowler is now chief of the vessel. It is reported that E.M.S. lonic, of tho Shaw-Savill fleet, will load frozen meat, wool, etc., at Auckland this trip. The vessel is due at Wellington from London on May 16. Mr. Anderson, second officer of the Komata, lies passed tho examination for master. Kamona, rollior. is to load at Greymouth for Fort. Adelaide this week. Tho German five-masted barnue R. C. Ricknicrs, the largest sailing ship afloat, is at present on her way from Sn.n Francisco to NcwcitfiUc, where sho will load about COCO tons of coal for the West Coast of South America.. Tokomaru, Shaw-Savill boat, loaves Dun-cdin.to-morrow to lift Uomcward cargo at uorts on the coast.
