Yesterday, officers watching a Malay who was loitering on tho wharf saw a hand, containing; a tin of opium, being thrust through an opening in tho planks. An officer took tho tin. • Tho mysterious hand kept appearing till forty-two tins had been handed up. Then tho man under the wharf became suspicious, jumped into tho harbour, and escaped.
