Wilson, the harbourmaster of Lcvuka, visited Suva recently to confer with Captains Wooley and Twentymaii on the charts of Fiji. It has long been recognised that the charts of the colony aro inadequate for presunt-riny requirements, especially of tho waters of the Lau Group. There are many shoals and patches which are not marked on the charts at- all. The result of the present inquiry will probably lie a request to the Admiralty to send a surveying shi-p to Fiji to accurately chart all the waters of the group. In continuation of her voyage from fit. John, New Brunswick, to Wellington, Ike New Zealand chartered steamer Invcrtny left Auckland yesterday. She should arrive hero on Friday evening.
