A meeting 'of the council ,of the, New Zealand Football Association was held at the Y.M.C.A. last evening, Mr.-H. N. Holmes presiding. The special business of the evening was tho consideration ■of n letter from Mr. G. A. Parker, president of tho Canadian Football Association, referring to a New Zealand tour (the text of the letter has already appeared in The Dominion). ■ Mr.- J. J. .Roberts moved that negotiations bo entered into with Mr. Parker on the basis of an 80 per cent, payment to fhe visiting' team after defraying expenses. This proposal was adopted, an Amendment referring tho matter to a subcommittee being rejected. Mr. Roberts further suggested that the programme of the tour should include matches ivith the teams representing respectively the eleven'affiliated associa- ' tions, two Now Zealand representative matches—one. to be played at Wellington and tho other at Dunedin—and a North ntid South Island match at Auckland. . The speaker strongly urged .that for the general encouragement of the game, and as an education to the smaller districts, the claims of the affiliated associations should be considered. After discussion it was agreed to base the subsequent arrangements on a -'programme of fourteen matches, the details to iba considered later.

: STAR B.C. TOURNAMENT. The annual sparring tournament for the members of the Star Boating Club was held last evening in the boat-shed in the presence of a large number of members and mends. Tho light-weight contort was won by Nance Bridge, who beat Allan oii a foul. The heavy-weight event was won by Alexander, who beat C. Bridge; the welter-weight by Fife, who defeated Hulhert. Mr. Bcnuelirimp-Platts acted'ns referee. The spars consisted'of four twomimtto rounds. Before tho candidates entered the ring the.y were medically exajnined.■
