Ngnta on the Bast Coast. The Hon. E. M'Kenzie, Minister for Public Works, will proceed to >Jew Plymouth and Wait am to-day. The Hon.. J. A. Millar arrived in ChristchuK'h yesterday. lie received local deputations in the morning, and leaves for Timarii to-day, and will go on to Dunedin at night.—Press Association. The Hon. T. Mackenzie returned from Taranaki yesterday. Sir James Mills is a passenger by the Jlonowai from Dunedin to Wellington. Ho subsequently proceeds to Auckland by the Main Trunk express to join B.M.S. Maitai for San Francisco. Mr. W. D. Lysnar, Mayor of Gisborne, is at present in Wellington, accompanied by his medical adviser, Dr. Charlss F. Scott, for the purpose of consulting Dr.s. llarty and Garcia Webster, regarding some trouble with his eyes, arising through overwork. The. doctors, after consultation, all agree that one eye must lie removed at once. We understand the operation takes place this morning. Mr. H. E. Guntor, of Palmerston North, well known in musical circles, has had to undergo nn operation for appendicitis. Mr. Thos. Henry Wilson, solicitor, and a Judge of the Native Land Court, was admitted as a barrister yesterday by Jlr. Justico Sim, on the motion of Mr. A. H. Baruott. The, first election of the Han'ke's Bay Rivers Boaid has been fixed by Gazette notice to taki place on liny 17, and the first meeting ol the new board is to be held in tiie chambers of the Hawke's Bay Comity Council, nt papier, during the forenoon of May 24. .
