STORAGE BATTERY CARS IN VIEW* (By Taleeri^li.— Special Correspondent.! Palmcrston North, May 1. Interviewed to-day on the tram question the Mayor (Mr. J. A. Nash) said that it was impossible to give any definite .information until he luut received a reply from the Beach Company of America. This firm were now oll'oring to give estimates for an installation of the Edison storago battery system, and, as toon as this camo to hand, ho would submit it to the council for consideration, and ho would endeavour to let the ratepayers have an opportunity of expressing their views on ttio question. lie felt sure that the council would facilitate matters as much as possible, particularly siuce there could be 110 doubt that there was a very strong desire ou the part of many ratepayers lo liavo trains installed in Palmcrston at an early dale.
