A Bill to enlargo tho membership of the House of Representatives to 433 has been adopted by tlio Lower House. Tho House of Representatives consists of 391 members, chosen every two years by all adult, male citizens duly qualified according to thc\laws of their respective State, and apportioned among tho States according to population, as determined 1 by the census taken every ten years. New York at prevent has 37 representatives, Pennsylvania 32, Illinois 25, Ohio 2), Missouri IG, and Massachusetts H, the other Slates having smaller numbers.
