SUGGESTIONS.
Sir,—l wish to call your attention to a few facts which call for adjustment. On Easter Monday, a public holiday, I passed a number of unfortunates going through the streets after their day's work to the Terrace Gaol. Surely these men should have had a holiday, as well as their fellow employees. 1 reftr to Government clerks, etc., who not alone had their holiday, but received pay for same, notwithstanding the fact a few take outside work to the outing of many un-i .employed. Another matter I have noted' in the past that clerks from some warehouses have been engaged on election days as poll clerks. It is to bo hoped that, tho authorities will not in tho future elections pursue that policy, but give the work to the unemployed—many who sadlv need it.—l am, etc., UNEMPLOYED.
