EDUCATION CONFERENCE.
A LUNCHEON. By Teleeraph—Press A3sociation-Oopyrient London, April 26. Sir George Reid, High Commissioner for Australia, gavo a luncheon in honour of the delegates to the Education Conference. Mr. Walter Runciman, President of the Board of Education, was present. SPEECH BY MR. .ASQUITH. • (Rec. April 27, 10.15 p.m.) London, April 27. The Government entertained the delegates at the Education Conference at dinner in the House of Commons. Mr. As(iui)h said if the conference could co-ordinate the Empire's resources nnd •provide an efficient, vital, and vigorons system of teaching, it would do more for the consolidation of the Empire and the happiness of the people than many socalled social reforms.
