It is interesting to note that tho most intensely congested area in the Empire is Hong Kong, which has a population of 9,557.0 to the square mile. The most sparsely inhabited area is the Falkland Islands," with 0.3 to the square mile. The total value of the Umpire's trade in 1909 was £1,596,000,000, of which 75.2 per cent, was foreign, and the balance inter-Imperial. Tho total tonnage of the Empire's shipping is 13,3-18,013.
