Arnst said that he would give him the race all right, hut he did not know about rowing in ten weeks. He had not been 100 well lately, and wanted to get fit. lie and Pearcc could have a talk to fix up thing?. I'earce's backers offered to put up .GIOO in the room to fix th» match.
