' The Hospital Committeorecommehd'ed that: Tho roof of the di-iyer's cottage be re-coveved with iron; that .tho hoiise steward be'authorised to purchase soap, candles, and flour in tho open market, and arrange with the Wellington Gas Company for supply of coke; that every facility bo afforded to the Hospital Department in preparing; a model '.system of accounts;' that the/house steward's, recommendation re staining .the .floors of wards Nos. .2, 4, and fi.'.bo'apprbved; that it is not considered necessary.to arrange for the laying of'a : foundation stone at the Children'.s Hospital ; but that provision be made for having a tablet placed' in the building .for use at the opening ceremony, and that tho question of the location of the'tablet'bo' left with tho Hospital Building Committee; that a form of weekly return of receipts as submitted by the treasurer be brought into use forthwith between officers receiving moneys' and"'the head office. In reference to Otaki Hospital and Sanatorium, the committee stated that during March 15 patients were admitted at tho Hospital, and 12 wore discharged. There remained in the Hospital, on.March 31, 7 males and 2 females. Six patients were admitted to tho Sanatorium • during' March, and 6 were discharged.
