A report received from Captain Amundsen, lender of the Norwegian Antarctic expedition, states that eight men and 115 dogs were landed at iho Barrier, and that the, dash ' for the South wouid begin directly tho vesscJ Eram departed for Buenos Ayres. London, April 20. Sir Ernest Shackleton, interviewed, said that if Amundsen started on February 15 ho would bo ablo to sledge until mid-April, but it would bo. impossible to cross tho crevasses of tho Bcardmoro Glacier in tho darkness, and with a probable temperature of lOOdog. below zero. It was possible that Captain Amundsen's message meant that lie was laying depots to the South, Buenos Ayres, April 20. The Fram reached 78.41 dog., the farthest south reached by any ship. —-i
