A SHOCKING ACCIDENT.
TWO LADS PALL INTO VAT OF STEAMING DYE. By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyrieht Melbourne, April 21. A number of employees at- the Stockport dyeworks were skylarking on top of tho dye vats when two youths, named O'Donnell and Sandwol'l, fell into a vat of steaming dye. They wore rescued, but died in tho hospital. Although tho Mayor of Hutt (Mr. E. 1. Bunny) does not profess any particular predilection for a motor-bus service for the Hutt Valley, yet he is strongly of opinion that such a service would be a moro practicable proposition than the £o'9,0l)0 electric tramway scheme which the Hutt Valley.Tramway Board proposes to ask the 'ratepayer's to accept. Referring to the matter at Ins meeting last evening, Mr. Bunny said that the Tramway Board, which had already spent something like £1000 without result, had presented a scheme costing £59,000. The ratepayers had rejected it, and the board should then have dissolved, and left it to the ratepayers to decide what was next to be considered. The board had not the least chance of getting tho people to accept its £65,000 scheme. The council itself would have investigated the question of a scheme of borough transit, but wore precluded from doing so by the Tramways Act. In all the large centres, where motor-bus services had been tried, they had been signally successful, and economical. The Hutt roads were admirably suited for such a service, and from estimates he had had prepared for his own information, a three-car service could be procured for £2700. A tramway service could only be obtained at great expense, and would only result in a loss to tho ratepayers. DR. ENSOR'S TAMER JUICE. A SURE CURE FOR INDIGESTION. MOST POPULAR MEDICINE KNOWN.
