PALMERSTON DAY BY DAY.

(From Our Special Correspondent.) Palmerston North, April 20. The Pnlniersfon Gun Club shot off four ties yesterday afternoon at the old racecourse for trophies. The shooting resulted in a win for J. Mortensen, C. H. Bycroft being second, and T. Stockwell third. A match for a sweepstake was won by Bycroft. Only clay discs" were used. The Manawatu Golf Club will open tho season on Saturday next with mixed foursomes. The parishioners of All Saints' will entertain the new vicar, the Rev. H. G. Koscher, at a welcomo "social" on Friday evening next. There was a large attendance of the craft at the annual installation of W.M. and investiture of officers at Lodge Rongotea last night, when Tiro. Burgess was duly installed. R.W. Bro. J. Moncricff, P.G.M., was installing master, and Wor. Bro. J. A. Nash, P.G.D.C., director of ceremonies.
