DUEL WITH HORSEWHIPS.
FOR POSSESSION OF A GIRL. By Telegraph—Press Association—Oopyricht Vienna, April 18. Two carters at Baja, Hungary, loved a farmer's daughter, and agreed to fight a duel for her possession, the girl promising to marry the winner. Tho rivals stripped to their waists, fastened themselves to posts to prevent their running away, nnd belaboured each other with horsewhips until the horrified girl, who was a looker-on, ran for hr.lp. When assistanco arrived tho combatants wero discovered to be senseless. The duel ended in a draw.
