SUSPECTED OF MURDER.

A NATIVE ARRESTED. (By Telegraph.-Pre33 Association.! Auckland, April 1!). A Native naiued Tahi Ivaka was arrested at Ivaikohe. last night on suspicion of having murdered a 'gumdigger named John Freeman. It appeal's that Freeman has been missing from - his whare at Puhi Pulii, near Whangarei, since April 5, and at- the time of his disappearance was in possession of a considerable sum of money. Large search parties have been searching the country, but.no trace cf the missing man has been discovered. The accused mail is to be taken to Whangarei, where lie win be charged, and a remand will be appliod_ for to allow, ot further investigation. Kaka was tho last man seen in Freeman's cccnpany, and since then he has been spending money freely. •
