A CURIOUS INFORMALITY.

EDUCATION DEPARTMENT "AT A LOSS/ , A curious informality has arisen in connection with the appointment by the Governmentof Mr. H, M'Nab as a member of the Victoria College Council. At a previous meeting of tho council, a letter f'om the Education Department stated that Mr. M'Nab had been appointed to the council, vice Mr. W. H. Quick, resigned. As Mr. Quicks resignation was news to the 1 council, the Department was written to for further enlightenment.
