BISHOP-ELECT OF WELLINGTON.
TO BE COXSECEATED ON WHIT TUESDAY. ' Archdeacon Fancourt, the Bishop's Commissary, has received notice from the Acting-Primate of Xew Zealand (Bishop Julius, of Christchurcli) that the nomination of the Rev. T. H. Sprott, vicar of St. Paul's pro-C'alherdal, to the Bbhopric of_ Wellington, in succession to Bishop Wallis, has received the sanction of the standing committees of the other Xew Zealand diocescf. It has besn arranged that the consecration will take place in St. Paul's on Whit Tuesday, June 6. it being laid down in the- Prayer Book that the ceremony must be performed on a Sunday or Holy Day. The Bishop cf Christchurch will conduct the service, and he will be assisted by the other New Zealand Bishops, the rule beinsr that at least three Bishops: shall take part in a consecration. Mr. Sprott has requested Archdeacon Fancourt to preach the sermon. It. may be mentioned as an interesting coincidenco that St. Paul's proCathedral was consecrated on June l>, 186 G.
