SPORTS AT HUTT PARK,

_ Much enthusiasm is being shown locally in the annual camp and convention of tho New Zealand Young Men's Methodist Bible Class Union, which are being hold at Hutt Park. On Sunday evening a parade to Petone was held by the young men, and a largely-attended open-air meeting held in Jackson Street. Following this, a largely-attended service was conducted in tho Palace Theatre, Petono, by llev. E. 0. Blamires, after which tho campers again paraded to the Park, attracting largo crowds by their enthusiastlc singing of well-known hymns. Oil' Sunday afternoon, following un tho missionary studies which have bpen made a special feature in (he camp,'the topic for discussion introduced by Christcliuvch delegates was "The Evangelisation of tho world 111 this Generation." Tho annual business meeting was held yesterday, and after the usual 1 routine of business the animal election of officers for tho New Zealand Executive of the union, which has this year been fixed for Wellington, resulted as follows:—President, Rev. A. B. Chappell, M.A.; vicepresidents, Revs. E. 0. Blamires, Fred. Rands, and Mr. A. S. Doustj secretary, Air. J. Isaac Raine; assistant secretary and Treasurer, Mr. P. Newton Clark. Hearty votes of thanks wero passed to the'outgoiiig ofiicers. After a lengthy and enthusiastic discussion the ballot resulted in the location of the next camp being fixed for Christchurch. ■ Tho sports were held in the afternoon, and resulted as shown below. The competitive speech on "Militarism" was won j by Mr. A. Avery, of Blenheim, Mr. M'Elwain, of T.Y.M.1., Wanganui, being second. The medals for winners of races and Iho union banner for iNi class gaining tho highest number of points 111 the sports wero presented by (he president of the Young Women's Methodist Biblo Class Union, Mrs. E. 0.
