SOCIALIST CONFERENCE.
. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Dunodin, April 17. The New Zealand Socialist Party held their fourth annual conference to-day. Delegates were present from different parts of New Zealand, Mr. J. W. MunrD' (Dunedin) presiding. Tho conference drew up and adopted 5; Platform on tho lines of that of tliof Aew Zealand l'cderation of Labour. It was decided to mere* the S""; a ;;ct paper "Commonweal" with tho "Maoriland Worker." A resolution was passed upholding tlio efforts ol the Christchurch branch in the direction of maintaining freedom of speech; ami n resolution advocating tho teaching of the principles of peace m tno State Schools was also agreed to The next conference will be 'held at \\ cUington. The Christchurch branch was appointed the executive body for the coming year.
