THE RETURN FOR MARCH,
Durin" the month of March the following numbers of stock were slaughtered at the municipal abattoir : -Sl cows -191 bullocks and heifers, 9 bulls, 4200 sheep, 9a6 lambs, 4G calves 4 pigs. Of tins number G cow= 11 bullocks, and 15 sheep were condemned as unfit for human consumption. .11 ! L 1 The fees received on stock slaughtered at the abattoir amounted, to £W os. Bd.. showing an increase of ,El 5 Bs. Gd. on last month. The fees due from meat export slaughter-houses on moat sold within abattoir area amounted to .£lsl "s. 7d., an increase of ,£l3 IGs. sd. on the previous month. The sum collected on the sale of offal and runners was .£l3l is. Id., an increase of ,£W S3. 10d. for March. The total amount for the month was JU32 los] Id., an increase of .£l3 13s. 9d. on last month. There was an increase of the slaugntonns; for the month of GS cittle, 528 sheep, 3(1 lambs. 3 pigs, and a decrease n[ 'HI calve=. The stock slaughtered for tfio'inonth was of exeellcnl quality, with flic exreption of 11 head of cattle, which were slaughtered for boning purposes. The increase of slock slaughtered for M'U-cli. 1!)I1, as ne.iinst 1910 was—327 cattle 2191 sheep. 2fiG lambs, and a decrease of '30 pigs and 10 calves. The fees on stock slaughtered at the abattoir. increased by . ,£7O ss, Gd. The decrease in fee? received from meat export slaughter-houses for above months amounted to .£77 125., while an increase of JXI 12s. 2<l. was shown on Hie sale of offal and runners. The total increase for March, 1911, over 1910, was £:,1 ss. Bd. .
