PEHSONAL NOTES FKOM LONDON. London, March 0. The Rev. CI. I'. Davys, who lor many years was vicar of Si. l'oter'.-, Wellington, now goes to a parish in Sandy, in Bedfordshire. Professor and Mrs. Coleridge Fan , , of Christchurch, who have arrived in London, arc slaying at the Thackeray Hotel, in iiloomsbury, Miss Phyllis V. fioiilt, of Auckland, who arrived on February 10 by the llnoltan, and has been since at Reading, with nor sister, Mrs. W. Ci. Diiliiehl, is now for some time in London. Commander Knox, Ji.X., who toured New Zealand two years ago in (he interests of the Navy League, has been lecturing in tho .English provinces on "New Zealand," with great success. Mrs. Bert lioylo is returning to her husband in New Zealand, and Jolt London on the 30th instant by the s.sf lonic. Miss Madeline Roylo is remaining in London for some months to fulfil engagements. Miss Winifred Howell, of Timaru, who has been touring on the Continent, and over England, Ireland, and Wales, intends going to Ireland for the summer, and visiting London at the time of tho Coronation. Miss A. B. Weir, of Christchurch, who came up to London from Scotland last Eutumn to spend (he winter here, hopes to go abroad early in May, and will probably return to New Zealand by the Athenic next September. Mr. James A. Graham, of Sutuner, Christchurch, has spent the winter at the Hydro at Bournemouth, and has gone to Nice for a few weeks. Afterwards he will visit Lucerne, returning to England in time for the Coronation. Mrs. Brudcnell Boyle (Miss Birney Stevenson), formerly of Wellington, left Wellington in September, 1907, to go to Siam, and from there she went to Ireland eighteen months ago. At present sho is living at Wimbledon. Mr. T. E. Donne, the New Zealand Immigration Commissioner in London, was among the guests at a luncheon given at the Crystal Palace in connection with tho Festival of Empire, and was called upon (o proposo the health of the chairman, Lord Lamington. Mr. G. J. Bruce, of Wellington, has arrived iii London from Bankok, Siam, where for soino time he was general manager of the "Siam Observer" (daily), "Weekly Mail," and "Siam Maitu." He came to England via Singapore and Colombo, and spent some timo in Holland and Algiers en route. The lonic, anions other passengers from New Zealand, brought to London Sir., Mrs., and Miss Waymouth, of Christchurch; Mr. and the Misses M'Laren, of Masterton; Colonel and Mrs. Head and family, who have spent the last four years in AVclliiiston; Mr. and Mrs. M. Myers, of Wellington; and Mr. Alex. Myers, and Dr. Guerin. Miss Barbara Watt, of Timaru, who arrived by tho Itotorua, will spend three months on tho Continent, chiefly in Switzerland and France, and tho rest of her visit in the United Kingdom, where she hopes to see something of educational institutions. Miss Watt intends to be a year away from New Zealand, and may spend a little time in Italy on the way home. Mr. W. A. P. Clarkson; of Christchurch, who has been for somo months at tho Hydro at Bournemouth, goes to Spain for' five weeks, and afterwards to Paris and Lucerne, meeting at the latter place Mrs. Clarkson and his daughter, Miss Kathleen Barclay, who has been studying music at the Conservatorium at Leipzic. All are returning to London in time for the CcronationAmong passengers by tho s.s. Tainui, which left Londov. on Thursday for New Zealand, via Capo Town and Hobart, were:—Jlr. N. Brock, Miss N. Zcdeler, Mr. and Mrs. Van Reeiien, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Wcatherlev, Mr. F. Anderson. Mrs.' F. Hcaly, Mr. and Mj;s. E. G. Clarke, and Mrs. G. and Mifs E. Woodbridgo (for Hobart), and Mr. J. L. Sousa. of baud fame, his wife and two daughters.
