OCEAN YACHT RACE.
NGAIRA WINS. Word was rcoeived on Saturday that the yachts competing in the Cruising Club's ocean raco had arrived at their destination, Port Underwood, on Friday morning. On time allowance the Ngaira takes first place and tho Kotiri second. The White Heather came off tho slip on Saturday afternoon and left for Port Underwood in tho evening. The yachts will raco back, and are due to arrive in Wellington to-day. P.N.Y.C. PICNIC. To-day the Port Nicholson Yacht. Club will hold a big picnic at Somes Island. Tho s.s. Pilot has been chartered by tho club to convoy friends to the island', and will lcavo tho Clyde Quay Wharf at 10.15 a.m. Luncheon and afternoon tea will be provided on the island, and a good sports programme has lx>on arranged. Tho prices of the tickets are: Adults, 25.; children, Is.; children under six, free.
