MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before Mr. W. G. Eiddcll, S.M.J It flicl r;ot take long to dispose of the business at the Magistrate's Court on Saturday morning. Edward M'Gibbon and flcrbsrt Hanoy pleaded guilty to a. charge of using threatening behaviour in the Uoyal Oak Hotel on Thursday evening, and each was fined 20s. with the option of seven days' imprisonment. Tho same two accused admitted having wilfully damaged a door, value £\, tho property of Samuel Gilraer. For this ofi'ence each was fined 20s. and ordered to pay 10s. for the damage done, in default to undergo seven days' imprisonment. Geo. Harris, alias Gentry, who pleaded guilty to a charge of theft of two pairs of hoots, valued at 305., was remanded for trnteneo until April 19. A prohibition order was issued against 31ary Jano Smylie. who was charged with drunkenness. .She was also fined 205., the alternative being seven days' imprisonment, A first-offending inebriate, who did not appear, was ordered to forfeit his bnil of 10s. or undergo 2-1 hours' imprisonment. Another first-offender against sobriety was fined ss. with tho option o p 21 hours' gaol, and two others were convicted and discharged.
