NEW CONDITIONS.
FOR PARLLUIKNTARY BUILDINGS. The- Government bus somewhat amended the conditions for the competitive designs, for tin . Parliamentary Buildings, the chief alteration being in regard to the judging. Tlio judging and awarding will now lie made by an architect practising; outside of N'ewZeahml. This man will report to a committee to bo appointed by the. Government, and he will also confer with tin's committee- if he thinks it advisable. Final judgment, however, is now to rest with this outside judge, instead of with the committee. Tha expert selected will be unacquainted with the competitors, whose names will be kept in a sealed envelope, until the judging is completed. It ir. expected that one of (ho Auslr.ili.iii St.ito Governments will be asked to select the assessor. In the new conditions provision is also made to prevent more than one prize goinc; to one competitor, 1 hough no restriction is placed on the number of designs each competitor may send in.
