CHURCH MUSIC.
TAKANAKI STREET CHURCH. At tho Taranaki Street Methodist Church last night, the choir, assisted by friends, rendered Staincr's "Crucifixion." The soloists were Mr. Win. Thompson, tenor, and Mr. Frank Chnrlton, bass. Mr. T. Cooper was conductor and Mr. W. J. Ilarland. presided at the organ. Among several' excellent solos, "The Majesty of Divine Humiliation," tenor, was beautifully rendered, while the duet, "So Thou Liftest Thy Divine Petition," was also a fino effort. ST. MARK'S. The choir of St. Marie's Church gave a capital rendering last night of "From Olivet to Calvary" (J. H. Maunder). The. soloists wero Mr. J. Ferguson, tenor, Mr. 11. Culverwell, baritone, and Miss AVatkins, soprano. A beautiful quartet was civen by Misses llcore and Morrell and Messrs. [Nelson and Coira. The conductor wasilr.L. F. Watkins.
