SWIMMING.
A meeting of (he AVellington branch of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association was held in_tho Y.XI.C.A. rooms b.st night, Jlr. G. Hiil occupying the chair. Those present were Messrs. T. Shields, G. Neal, W. G. Xlorpsth, E. J. Flemming. F. Wilton, C. W. Blick, and li. Baker.
Considerable discussion took plate in connection with some money (about X'3o resulting from a sale of programmes, aii'i printing and advertising in the same. It was decided to leave the matter in the hands of the chairman, with power to net.
In reference to the Wellington Centre's application for record certificates, the X.Z.A.S.A. wrote advising the council that the records cf Cyril Brice (100 yards in 63=ec.) and XI. E. Champion (1 mile in Somin. ISsec.) had not been allowed by tho association, owing to the height of tho plunge at the time of starting being over .'1 feet. It was stated that other records have been passed, and certificates will be forwarded 111 due course.
