ENROLLING THE YOUTHS,
CITY AREA OFFICER'S REI'pRT,
In accordance with the routine laid down by the General Staff at Headquarters, area officers in charge of areagroups aro required to report to their respective district commanding officers on the progress of the registration, every Monday throughout the period—till July next. The first report—that from the officer in charge of the Wellington city areas (Lieutenant A. If. Rassam), arrived at district headquarters yesterday, and shows that in the four areas in the oity group a total of 139, between the ages of U years and 20 years and odd months— those who were 21 on or before March 1 not being required to register. No schools or institutions have yet been' registered, or existing Territorial companies, as the special registration, roll required for the latter is not quite ready. Details of the registration, which takes in the period from the afternoon of April .3 till 10 p.m. on April 7—the report is for the week ended April B—are as follow > £ * » <. m 8 8 S £ s s a 'tj .
