BROOKLYN HARRIERS.
On Saturday afternoon twenty-five members of the Brooklyn Harriers assembled at Newtown Park to tako part in the second club run of the season. Tho haics, IV Byrne and S. Murray, laid a trail, , which'led from tho park, over tho hills, and then down to Island Bay. From the bay tho trail led up the hills overlooking Haughton Bay and Lyall Bay, and thence hack to the.Park gates. A run-in" was held over the last 300 yards,which resulted in J. Galbraith just beating A. Barnes for first place, lrith A. Poynton a good third. After the run a general meeting was held, for the purpose of electing a secretary and two cofnmitteemen. Mr.' V. Hodson has resigned the position as secretary owing to pressuro of business, Mr. E. Shaw was elected to fill the vacancy; A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the retiring secretary for the good work which ho has dono.(hiring/hisiposii tion as secretary.
