ME. MASSEV IN CENTRAL OTAGO. (By TolcsrapU.—Press Association.) Alexandra South, April 8,... Mr. W. F. Massey, Leader of the Opposition, left Roxburgh at midday in company with Mr. R. Scott, M.P. for Tuapeka, and drove to Alexandra, whore he delivered an address in the evening. At thn close of his address, he answered several questions lo the entire satisfaction of one and all. During his speech he dealt with the land question al some length, the Hine inquiry, and matters of finance. Ho deplored the absence of any irrigation in Central Otago, and advised setllers to procure tho services of tho Rev. Mr. Mason to find artesian water. Tho party leave for Duncdin in tho morning, and, on Wednesday night, Mr. Massey will speak in Dtinedin, after which ho goes on to the north, and will return south.again ;next month.

ASKED TO SPEAK AT WINTON. Duncdin, April 0. Mr. Massey will leave Dunedin on Thursday, but will return to Otago during tho middle of Mav, when ho will speak in Oamaru and Invcrcargill. Mr. J. Allen, M.P., will probably accompany Mr. Massey on this tour. Mr. Massey has been asked to speak at Winton, but it is not likely that he will do so in Sir Joseph Ward's absence.
