The week has been an unusually quiet one for all markets, neither buyers nor sellers being keen to do business. Most, of the farmers have now disposed o£ their wheat, and those holding are men of independent means who can well afford to wait for better prices. Nominally wheat is worth 3s. Id. (on trucks, less commission) for Velvet, while the- same value holds good for Tuscan. Transactions in localiy-growu oats are very few, merchants purchasin" from outside to fill local requirements Sothing is doing in potatoes, owing to tho ravages of the potato moth.
