M'Millau,. formerly town clerk of Fremantle, pleaded guilty to stealing four of the council's debentures, valued at £2000, and, was sentenced to - three years' imprisonment with hard labour. A similar sentence \vas imposecT "on Wilson, formerly accountant .to . the Fuller and Naughton Company, for embezzling £271 of the firm's money, which be bad lost in horse-racing.
