SERIOUS GUN ACCIDENT.

FOUR MAORI CHILDREN INJURED. (By Telegraph.-Press Association.) . - Auckland, April 7. The report has been received of a serious gun accident at Waima, Hokianga. It is stated that four Maori children of different parentage, in tho absence of adult control, procured an old double-barrelled gun, wliich tliey loaded with powder, and then attempted to fire it off by means of live embers. The gun exploded, with the result that two of the chilrlren were seriously injured-, whilst lesser injuries were sustained by the others. The details at present available regarding tho accident are fragmentary, but Dr. Buck has left for Waima to render surgical aid.
