Mr. \V. S. Percy, having been granted & short holiday by the J. C. Williamson management at Christchurch, journeyed to Greymouth recently in company with Mr. T. Bollard. He gave, as a compliment to his former employer, several vaudeville items in connection with Pollard's picture display at the Opera House. Jlr. Percy, who has always boon a prime favourite with West Coast audiences, met with a.n enthusiastic reception. On Thursday evening, before the termination of the- performance, Mr. T. Pollard presented him with a gold medal, suitably engraved. In making the presentation, Mr. Pollard briefly outlined Mr. Percy's career during the thirteen years of his connection with the Lilliputian Opera Company, and spoke in high terms not only of his ability, hut also of his manly t|iiiilities, which, he _ predicted, would enable him to make his mark in London, whither he sails in a short time. Mr. Percy replied in a lengthy characteristic speech. Particulars of a stock sale to be held by Messrs. Abraham and Williams at Levin on Wednesday next are advertised in this issue.
