£ SETTLER TEMPORARILY BLINDED. (By Telegrash.-Presa Association.) . _, ■ Eketahuna, April 6. I The Haunui correspondent "of the . Lketahuna Express" reports that a severe gale was experienced on Tuesday. •Mr. E. Jewitt's new residence being considerably damaged, the wind blowing timber through several largo windows, ihe gale freshened up the log fires on one property, and these spread. At Kent Terface, the Ranch, and Otapawa, residences were only saved by strenuous efforts. The damage was confined to firewood and fencing. Ono settler was temporarily blinded.
