WHOLESALE MASSACRE URGED. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyricht (Rcc. April 2, 5.5 p.m.) Calcutta, April 1. The police are inquiring regarding an inflammatory leaflet entitled "Independent India," which has been circulated broadcast. It urges the wholesale, massacre oC the white population. A Brahmin named Modak has been sentenced at Bombay to transportation for seven years for attempting to kill Colonel Ferris by means of a bomb at Kolhapur. The judge stated that Jlodak utilised Joshi, a Brahmin degenerate, for the purposes of political assassination. Joshi had been detailed by the plotters to kill Lord Cur Eon at the time of the Delhi Durbar,
