Mr. D. J. Nathan, chairman of the committee which tendered the Prime Minister and Attorney-General a biinouet recently on the occasion of their departure for London, has received a letter written from R.M.S. Makura, Brisbane, from Sir Joseph Ward and the Hon. Dr. Findlay, thanking the citizens for their magnificent send-off. Mr. 11. D. Bedford has announced his candidature for the Duncdjn North seat at the coming general elections.—Press Association. Tho Anglican Bishop-elect of Auckland (Archdeacon Crossley) will leavo Melbourne on April 18, and will arrive in Auckland on the following Sunday, April 23. The consecration ceremony will take place at St. Mary's Cathedral on Tuesday morning, April 25, at 10.30 o'clock. In tho absence of the Primato (Bishop Neville), the Bishop of Christchurch (Dr. Julius), Acting-Primate, will bo the consecrating Bishop, and the Bishops of Nelson, Waiapu, and Wellington, nnd Bishop Williams are expected to be present. After the ceremony Bishop Wallis will leave for England. Mr. Justice Denniston arrived from the south on Saturday morning. All the judges of the Supremo Court are now iu town in readiness for the opening of the Court of Appeal this moruiiig. Mr. Rnn-don Becre, who has been caplain of the Victoria College Hockey Club for six years, was presented with a handsome framed photograph of the senior team at the annual meeting of the club, held on Friday evening.
