CITY FIRES.
OUTBREAK IN FEATIIERSTON STREET. Shortly after 0 olclock last night a lire was discovered in an office occupied by Messrs. Arthur AVarburton and Co., sharebrokers and estate agents, 104 Foatherston Street. It appears that the outbreak occurred in a waste-paper basket, and spread to the paper and lining on a wall, but, owing to the prompt action of the brigade, the flames were suppressed in a very few minutes before any other damage was done. Tlio building is owned by Mr. AV. H. Quick, f.nd the, contents of the office are insured for £100 in the Commercial Union office. TAR-POT TAKES FIRE. A tar-not boiling over in Cruickshank Street, Kilbirnic, took fire, and it became necessary to mako a call on the brigade to suppress it. AVASH-HOUSE DAMAGED. At 2.21 p.m. a call was received by the brigade to proceed to a burning wash-house in the rear of a ten-roomed dwelling at 103 \ r ivian Strct, owned by Mr. G. M'Gill, and occupied by Mr. John Gaudry. The building and its contents were considerably damaged before tho fire was put out.
