Two hreaktastcups of flour, one hroakfastcupful of sugar, two broakfastcups of dates, one teaspoonful of soda dissolved in three-quarters of a hroakfastcupful of cold water, ono tablespoonful of butter dissolved in three-quarters of a cup of boiling water, one teaspoonful of mixed spice, half a teaspoonful of grated nutmeg. Mix all these ingredients together, tie them loosely in a pudding cloth, and boil four hours.
