It is understood tho Government will announce to-morrow that it will not oppeso the Lords' discussion of the question of their own reform, but will claim priority for the Veto Bill, relying on a majority in the House of Commons .to carry the Government policy. Asquith announcing that the Budget would bo presented soon after Easter. THE REFERENDUM BILL, London, March 20, Lord Beauchamp, First Commissioner af Works, resumed the debate in the House of Lords on the Referendum Bill. He quoted instances where the referduni had failed, notably in Australia, where a Labour Ministry had reversed a vote taken by referendum, and in Canada, where 23 per cent, of the people had vote.d for prohibition. The debate was adjourned indefinitely.
