Mr. Gilbert Anderson, of Christchurch, New Zealand, who was formerly managing director of tho Christchurch Meat Company, read a paper at a meeting of members of the Cold Storage and Ice Association on "Tho Need for an International Standard of Meat Inspection." llr. Anderson advocated that all meat for 'export should be killed only at licensed slaughter-houses after inspection by a veterinary surgeon empowered to reject animals on the score of emaciation as well ns disease, tho Government paying tho owners partial compensation for rejects.
