F. 2 Allen, secretary of the Coronation New - Zealand Industrial Exhibition, stated J that he is being overwhelmed' with ap- - plications for space, and that it has f already .been necessary to impinge on the . Concert Hall space. • Mr. H. S. Wardell, chairman of the 1 Education and' Fine Arts Committee, has issued the following circular to persons likely.to be custodians of pictures, curios, or works of art:— 3 "In connection with the Exhibition to s be opened in Wellington on May 2-1 next f it is proposed •to have a collection of B pictures and other works of fine art. This B committee is therefore desirous of obj taiuing, as early as possible, tho informaj tion required to enable it to make the ~ necessary arrangements, and with that J. view approach you to ask if you will 3 kindly lend for the purpose of exhibi--0 tion any picture or other works of art „ in your possession. This committee will ? undertake that due care is exercised, and '' will insure against fire, besides defraying expenses in connection with tho carriage of all exhibits. Wo appeal to you for j help, feeling assured that tho generosity " of those contributing by the loan of pic- ." tures, etc., will be very highly appre- ';■ ciated. If you will consent 'to place l" at our disposal any works of painting, j sculpture, art craft, or art curios generi ally, we shall be obliged if you will kiml- £ ly inform us, for which purpose a form 1 o'f reply is enclosed herewith, and on ' receipt of which we will communicate with you further."
